TANNIN® CORPORATION

Tannin Corporation was founded in 1944 to manufacture and distribute leather chemicals to the large concentration of tanners in the New England area of the United States. The current ownership was established in 1979 with its headquarters in Peabody, Massachusetts, USA, 18 miles north of Boston.

The company has grown to become the largest wet-end chemical supplier in North America, serving the United States and Canada, with a subsidiary company in Mexico, Tannin Mexico S.A. de C.V.

The company acquired Marden-Wild of Canada in 2006 along with its state-of-the-art manufacturing and production facility of a select group of products in Asia. The product line has expanded to include a range of finish oils and waxes added to the already comprehensive line of wet-end fatliquors, fillers, resins, and waxes.

In addition to increasing its physical facilities, Tannin Corporation has broadened its focus to include sales and technical service around the world by utilizing a wide network of agencies and distributors. This network enables Tannin Corporation to bring together the expertise of Tannin’s technicians coupled with world-class products and the logistical support necessary to provide the worldwide leather industry the service required to establish a significant market share.

TANNIN® HAS IT

Tannin Corporation specialized in products necessary to produce classic American Lifestyle Leathers. Our product offerings include stuffing oils and waxes for the wet-end, as well as hot melt oils and waxes for heated roller application and the original hot-stuffing process.

Tannin also produces a wide range of hydrophobic fatliquors and water proofing compounds, offering a unique process combining both hydrophobic and oiled properties to produce waterproof Crazy Horse types.
